In the increasingly fractured world of music blogging, one topic remains unclaimed: Guys Named Will Doing Funny Covers on Late Night Television. Rolls right off the tongue, doesn’t it? Well there has never been a better time to stake your claim. Yesterday we rolled in the aisles as William Shatner gave us “Fuck You” as only William Shatner could. Today, we see Will Ferrell take late night comedy in a decidedly different direction. He joins Filipino boxer Manny Pacquiao – he claims to be a big fan – for a totally straight-faced rendition of John Lennon’s “Imagine.” The bemusement on Pacquiao’s face as the two stumble along provides more laughs than camera-mugging ever could.

“This is a special night for lovers of music and for lovers in general,” Kimmel says. How right he is. Watch it below.
