Eliza Doolittle’s first single was titled “Skinny Genes,” so clearly this girl knows fashion. And what’s more fashionable right now than covering Cee-Lo Green’s viral smash “Fuck You”? Nothing, that’s what. Doolittle delivers the latest version, performed backstage with a couple bandmates on vocals and double bass. Despite the stripped-down instrumentation, it doesn’t lose any of the original’s swagger. Bonus: her British accent on “I really hate your arse right now.” Watch the video below.

As you may already know, “Fuck You” comes off Cee-Lo’s The Lady Killer, which hits stores next Tuesday. You may not know that you can hear the whole thing right now, streaming over at NPR. Yes, you have to endure the censored “Forget You,” but it’s worth it for Green’s hilarious intro. “When it comes to ladies, I have a license…to kill!”

  1. That’s spectacular, thanks!

  2. What’s the name of the double bassist? He’s absolutely gorgeous.
