It’s a bit bizarre that we haven’t seen a decent cover of the Lumineers’ “Ho Hey,” considering that it is virtually inescapable on the radio. Thank goodness for Boston-based alt-pop rockers Westland, who bring their own twist on the popular tune.

The cover is built on the acoustic framework that made the original so popular, but Westland adds its own East Coast pop-punk influences. What starts off as a slow, quiet tune builds into more of a power pop anthem, which is completely appropriate considering the original’s pop sensibility. Watch the video below:
