Arctic Monkeys have been on quite the covers kick lately. Frontman Alex Turner recently stopped by Australian radio station Triple J for a solo performance of Patsy Cline’s “Strange.” This week the Sheffield quartet visited the UK’s Radio One and premiered their take on Katy B‘s “On a Mission.”
At first blush, a reggae cover of dubstep might seem like a novelty. Until, that is, you remember where the “dub” in “dubstep” comes from. Peter Tosh doing Skrillex might stretch the imagination, but reggae-pop band the Skints covering dubstep-pop Katy B (already a sensation in Britain, still breaking stateside) comes much more naturally.
