It’s not likely you’ll go the whole summer without hearing Weezer’s “Island in the Sun.” As a summer playlist staple ever since its 2001 release, it’s difficult to imagine it sounding as good without Weezer’s signature wailing guitar solos and the easygoing voice of frontman Rivers Cuomo. But Deaux, comprised of Alexa Cruse and Jacob Morrison (who we’ve previously heard as Hands(s)), proves that it can be done.
