Azealia Banks, who is known both for being Seapunk Rap royalty and her numerous twitter spats, has come out of left field with a cover of The Strokes “Barely Legal.”

Banks makes the adored early 2000s NYC rocker track completely her own. Produced by fellow New Yorkers and dance fans Lindbergh Palace, the only similarity that the cover shares with the original is the lyrics. She debuted the song on New Zealand’s George FM, and also announced via Twitter that her next single, “Yung Rapunxel,” will be available on iTunes starting March 26th. Until then, enjoy this fresh take on a monumental song.
