There seems to be an unlimited amount of three things in this world: 1) Money in Washington, D.C.; 2) Fast & Furious movie storylines; 3) Tributes to The Beatles.

The latest tribute, Keep Calm and Salute The Beatles, is set to be released this week.  This tribute to the Fab Four has an eclectic mix of artists.  Just reading the names of the artists makes you feel like you’re watching a late-night infomercial for Lovin’ in the 20th Century CD set: Leo Sayer, Howard Jones, KC (without his Sunshine Band), Stephen Bishop and Andrew Gold.  (I believe the version of “Norwegian Wood” included here is the same one that is found on his 2008 album, Copy Cat. Either that or he came back to life to sing for this, which automatically makes this worth buying.)

A few notable songs on this collection include Ann Wilson, singing her heart out (HA!) on “Across the Universe” and Todd Rundgren’s take on “You’ve Got To Hide Your Love Away”.  And then there is the late, great Cream bassist, Jack Bruce, singing what turned out to be his final recording: “Eleanor Rigby”. Listen to that here:

There are two versions of the album, one of which includes two bonus tracks.

Track Listing:

1. Ann Wilson (Heart) – “Across the Universe”
2. John Wetton (King Crimson / Asia) – “Penny Lane”
3. Jack Bruce (Cream) – “Eleanor Rigby”
4. Liz Madden – “Blackbird”
5. Andrew Gold – “Norwegian Wood”
6. Todd Rundgren – “You’ve Got To Hide Your Love Away”
7. Helen Reddy – “All You Need Is Love”
8. Judy Collins – “I’ll Follow the Sun”
9. Howard Jones – “And I Love Her”
10. Felix Cavaliere (The Rascals) – “Ticket To Ride”
11. KC (KC & the Sunshine Band) – “Let It Be”
12. David Clayton-Thomas (Blood, Sweat & Tears) – “Yesterday”
13. Martha Davis (The Motels) – “Nowhere Man”
14. Stephen Bishop – “All I’ve Got to Do”
15. Billy Sherwood – “Something”
16. Leo Sayer – “Hey Jude”
17. Dale Bozzio (Missing Persons) – “Can’t Buy Me Love” (Bonus Track)
18. Al Stewart – “I Feel Fine” (Bonus Track)

‘Keep Calm and Salute The Beatles’ is out today and available on AmazoniTunes and other music stores.
