Sunderland indie rockers Frankie & The Heartstrings have been a busy bunch as of late. Last year, they opened up their own record shop in their hometown, and, recently, covered the latest single from their neighbors from the north, Franz Ferdinand.

Frankie & The Heartstrings’ take on Franz Ferdinand’s “Stand On The Horizon” is a joyous departure from the original. The Sunderland rockers swap out the disco-punk feel of the original for an amped and angsty post punk vibe that makes the repeated line, “The North Sea sings, won’t you come to me baby?'” all the more imperative.
