Despite being busy preparing for the release of their fourth studio album, Dear Miss Lonely Hearts, in the next couple of weeks, Long Beach rockers Cold War Kids have made time to have a little fun with Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds‘ “Opium Tea.”

If the words “fun” and “Nick Cave” don’t make sense to you in the same sentence, wait until you hear this cover. Lead singer Nathan Willett brings in his trademark yelps and howls, and accompanied with a frenzied piano, this cover is nothing short of exuberant.

See what else Cold War Kids are up to in anticipation of their album release over on their official website.
