Divine Fits – the Supergroup comprised of Spoon‘s Britt Daniel, Wolf Parade/Handsome Furs’ Dan Boeckner, and New Bomb Turks’ Sam Brown – has been exceptionally busy since its inception in early 2012. Currently touring for their debut album A Thing Called Divine Fits (Merge), the band has snuck several covers into their live sets. During a show in Rhode Island, the band did their own rendition of Frank Ocean‘s “Lost.”
Britt Daniel’s distinct voice makes Ocean’s R&B song sound like another Spoon song, which tends to happen when Daniel covers things. The more upbeat indie vibe is a nice juxtaposition to Ocean’s drug-hazed lyrics, and we can only hope that the supergroup makes time in its busy schedule to hammer out a studio version of this tune.
