Considering the longevity and large amount of musicians that have been a part of Brian Jonestown Massacre, it is a wonder that we haven’t seen more covers from its catalog. The few that we do hear, however, such as Jessica Lea Mayfield‘s rendition of “(David Bowie I Love You) Since I Was Six,” deliver.

Mayfield teamed up with frequent producer/The Black Keys member Dan Auerbach for the lo-fi shoegaze tune. The cover is being featured in the new psychological thriller Apart and it fits the disturbing mood perfectly. The video released with the cover features the two star-crossed lovers of the film, Emily and Noah, dancing.
