If you listen to Lykke Li’s music there is probably a couple things you might expect from it. It’s usually got a great tune that will probably make you want to dance, and the instrumentals are pretty unique in their choice and composition. So, listening to an acoustic cover of Lykke Li’s funky indie-alternative tune “I Follow Rivers” is a pretty rare treat. That’s exactly what Band of Skulls’ version is, a treat to Lykke Li and Skulls fans everywhere.

Emma Richardson and Russell Marsden, two members of the UK indie band, performed their acoustic version of Lykke Li’s hit in the 3FM studios in the Netherlands – the same place Triggerfinger also recently covered the song. Both of them sang along and played guitar, and that’s about as complicated as this cover gets, but in a good way. Both Richardson and Marsden have extremely likeable soft voices that work surprisingly well with the song’s lyrics. It’s simple in its performance and acoustic guitar tune, but it’s very far from boring, and the softness of it actually makes the chorus sound a little less repetitive than the original.
