Last April’s five-song set of Franz Ferdinand covers to celebrate Record Store Day was unlikely enough. LCD Soundsystem, Debbie Harry, and more came together to tackle some newer songs by the Scottish quartet. Even less likely: now all the covers have honest-to-goodness music videos.

We’ve already seen Peaches’ spastic take on “Turn It On,” but last month Franz dropped three more videos, for LCD Soundsystem’s “Live Alone” (one of the Top 10 covers of 2011), Stephin Merritt’s “Dream Again,” and ESG’s “What She Came For.” Only the Debbie Harry track lacks a video, and we never really considered that a cover anyway since it features the original band.

LCD Soundsytem’s clip features cityscapes, neon lights, and some sort of Tron-style welding. Merritt’s will change the way you look at your iTunes controller or DVD player. ESG’s clip recalls classic ‘80s music videos (we’re thinking “Once in a Lifetime”) with Dalí-on-shrooms visuals. All three would have been Best Video contenders had they come out a few days earlier. Instead, enjoy ‘em all in one Franz binge.
