The new Muppets movie – aptly titled The Muppets – opens in a few weeks. If you can’t wait to get your next fix of Kermit and the gang, though, you can get a preview now. A cover preview, that is. It’s the Muppets Barbershop Quartet performing Nirvana’s “Smells Like Teen Spirit” and it’s everything you hoped and dreamed it would be.
The Muppets Barbershop Quartet consists of Sam the Eagle, Rowlf the Dog, Link Hogthrob, and, of course, Beaker. I wish they had gotten a Barbershop arranger to write to write the song. The chords are nonsense.
Although they appear dressed in the stereotypical barbershop quartet outfit, the arrangement is not barbershop. Nor do most barbershop quartets dress in the stereotypical style anymore.
Yeah… but it’s the Muppets! They have a little leeway in the “reality” department. And My God but it’s good to see that kind of humor out there again. This set got belly laughs (thanks in no small part to Beaker).

Jesus Christ, lord f*ck all mighty, this is the stupidest cover since Miley Cyrus’s why in gods fucking name would they let them use this? Kurt’s songs would be better off with Courtney than be a stupid cover for dumb little kids to over on the antem for a generation…the muppets suck
