Throughout the â70s, the Sweet racked up glam-rockinâ hits like âBallroom Blitzâ and âLove Is Like Oxygen.â In the decades since, like many of their peers, theyâve sputtered. The band has broken up and reformed a few times, but nothing much came of it. In 1997 the frontman died and the drummer followed him five years later. It didn’t seem likely the band would return, but now theyâre back with their first recording in years, a cover of the Whoâs âJoin Together.â
Andy Scottâs guitar drives the cover – which seems only appropriate, since heâs the only remaining original member. The bandâs golden days may be decades behind them, but they sound as full of life as ever. Listen to âJoin Togetherâ below.

Thank God they kept the big group vocal on the line “Join together with the band” I think that makes the original recording for me, and it would be just plain wrong to leave that out.
If this song gets playtime on the radio stations it most be a new hit single for the Sweet.
So, do you have time over to spent it in written emails to all djs , do so and this will be Sweets new hit.
The problem is no radio station will ever play this … even when they had much better singles in the past (after the hits) they never got played … sad but true
