“Clap, clap, hit the cup, clap side over. Clap side, up down, up bang bang!” If you ever went to a summer camp at some point during your childhood, this is how you learned how to play the cup game. For Swedish band Erato, this childhood game perfectly punctuates their a cappella cover of Robyn‘s “Call Your Girlfriend.”
The original is notorious for its danceability and one-shot video featuring Robyn busting a move. Three members of Erato, Ebba Lovisa, Amanda Wikström and Petra Brohäll, do a complete 180 with goosebump-inducing harmonizing and minimal percussion in the form of cottage cheese containers.
