Last year, Marissa Nadler covered a bunch of her favorite songwriters on Cover CD. Townes Van Zandt, John Lennon, Joni Mitchell were all there, but she didn’t touch anything by Leonard Cohen. Perhaps that’s because she covered him before on an album a few years ago, doing “Famous Blue Raincoat.” Well, if you’ve been waiting for a sequel to that gorgeous performance, you’re in luck. Nadler just posted her version of “Winter Lady” as a free download promoting her upcoming U.K. tour.

Nadler’s “Winter Lady” is just her and an acoustic guitar, like most of her work. Also like most of her work: it’s stunningly beautiful. Download Nadler’s “Winter Lady” below, along with a “Famous Blue Raincoat” stream from 2008’s Sing III: Bird on the Water.
