For a 40-year old jazzy film theme, Roy Budd’s “Main Theme (Carter Takes A Train)” (aka. the Get Carter theme) has seen some high-profile covers. The Human League performed it on 1981 album Dare. Stereolab did in 1998 on Aluminum Tubes. Now another British band take a swing at it: The Horrors.

The beloved quintet performed their version for the BBC, promoting their new album Skying. Their version turns the vaguely-eastern jazz tune into a six-minute synth jam. Guitars wail, people whisper, and the wood-block beats don’t stop. Check it out below.
