Following a bout with laryngitis that led to several weeks of canceled shows, Adele returned to the stage last night at London’s iTunes Festival. The same event that brought Linkin Park covering “Rolling in the Deep” found Adele debuting a cover of her own: Bonnie Raitt’s “I Can’t Make You Love Me.”

If that song sounds familiar, it’s because we’ve posted another cover of it recently: Bon Iver’s. Adele takes the same piano-ballad approach, though of course with her pipes the effect is different than Justin Vernon’s more plaintive plea. She doesn’t oversing it, though, delivering the heartbreaking song tenderly. Watch and download it below (keep the tissues handy).
