In nearly every rendition of the song, Elvis Costello’s “Pump It Up” remains true to its title. Swarm of Bats’ cover of the tune does not falter from this trend, but we don’t mind. The cover, which is a bonus track on the band’s debut album, is full of creeping bass, a telling synth, and the classic hook that we all can’t help but scream along to.

With their garage-band roots, Swarm of Bats amps up everything there is to love about the original, calling for the audience to get up and do something. While the cover doesn’t exactly reinvent the wheel, it doesn’t fail to induce toe-tapping, head-bopping and maybe even a little shoulder shaking if for some reason you are unable to get up and dance or start a fight with someone.
