At the end of May, Paul McCartney launched a competition for the best cover of his hit, “Maybe I’m Amazed.” We showcased a couple of our early favorites, but the time for entries has come to an end and it’s time to see if our picks still stack up to the competition. Just because entries can no longer be submitted, though, doesn’t mean the competition is over – you can still vote until 4PM (GMT) on the 23rd of June by liking your favorites on YouTube.

So what did it take to make the cut of our top five picks? We’ve got Matt Bartolomeo and Jacob & Ian with multi-instrumentalist videosongs, the Newbees’ rocking live cover that channels Janis Joplin more than Sir Paul, Tony Clef’s stunning instrumental rendition on classical guitar, and Andres Arce with the most original new arrangement of all the entries.

So, without further ado, here are Cover Me’s top picks for the “Maybe I’m Amazed” Cover Competition. If you like them, click the “YouTube” button on one to go to the site, then click “Like” on these or any other YouTube videos to vote!

  1. Thank you for give me a chance with my arrangement of Maybe I’m Amazed, and for choose my video on this top five covers!!!!

  2. The Andres Arce’s cover is AWESOME!!!

  3. I think the Andres Arce’s cover there is a contribution to their arrangement that makes it different from other participants …VAMOS ANDRES!

  4. Jacob & Ian are the best cover. Jacob voice is awesome and the arrangement the best. so, Jacob & Ian # 1.

  5. Congratulations to one of my very favorite YouTube musicians, Tony “TroubleClef” Clef. He’s dedicated so much time, effort and love in recording and posting 185 (!!!) songs to his channel, and the sheer diversity in his range of selections alone should be enough to garner some serious attention. Winning this competition, and getting Sir Paul’s seal of approval is magical icing on the cake. Way to go, Tony—I wish much continued success!!!
