For the latest Undercover session, the A.V. Club coerced Low into covering a Toto song, and you’ll never guess which one! Okay, we lied. Of course you’ll guess which one – “Africa” aka. the only Toto song anyone remembers (and not always in a good way). Still, reluctant though they clearly are to perform it, Low does it more justice than it probably deserves.

Alan Spearhawk takes a backing role on drums while Mimi Parker carries the vocals. Even stripped down, it’s still cheesy as all hell. Watch it below. Also, check out Low offshoot Retribution Gospel Choir’s “Kokomo” from a session last year.

I will never understand why the A.V. Club insists on using whatever music player they insist on using that I can never get to work. There are ‘internet standards” for a reason.

  2. Ray Padgett says:

@EL – I believe that ad blockers break these videos, so you’ll want to disable them for whatever site you’re watching it on. Hope that helps.

  3. Mike Misch says:

Wait, wait… what’s wrong with “Africa” by Toto?

  4. I’ve always really liked the song “Africa”. True, it’s not a great song by any means, but it’s very enjoyable. Certainly nothing wrong with it.

“Kokomo” on the other hand… what a HORRID fucking song!
