Last we heard from Taylor Swift, she was about two years too late with her “Viva La Vida” cover. For her latest genre-crossing endeavor though, she’s right on the cusp of a band’s transition to mainstream success. Perhaps having spotted them on their knockout Grammy performance last month, Swift covered Mumford and Sons during her latest BBC appearance.

Say what you will about the country queen’s songs; she nails “White Blank Page.” Her full vocal power is on display, more than holding its own ahead of the banjo, violin, and guitars. Bonus points for digging deeper than “The Cave” or “Little Lion Man” too. Check it out below.

  1. big fan of t.swift. this is haunting and beautiful. on repeat now. ugh, she’s amazing.

  2. Wow, that was absolutely beautiful. Her voice really shines on this song. Thanks for posting!

  3. I’m usually not a Taylor Swift fan, but I’ve been listening to this gorgeous cover of Mumford & Sons’ “White Blank Page” for close to a half hour on repeat. The harmonies at the end will be like ghosts in my head.

  4. Not bad at all. Taylor’s version is quite good, but it lacks the energy that the original has. You can’t say the word “rage” without putting actual rage behind it, for example.

  5. This is indeed lovely. I agree with Danno about the “rage” bit – it does lose something without that emotion obvious behind it, but this is still a great cover.
