This March, we pitted 64 Beatles covers against each other in what we call Moptop Madness. Today, we present the winner. The Cover Me readers’ pick for Best Beatles Cover Ever is…

Joe Cocker’s “With a Little Help from My Friends”

Five weeks, 64 covers, and over 2,000 votes later, Moptop Madness finally has its winner. Joe Cocker took top prize with his classic cover of “With a Little Help from My Friends,” solidly beating out Booker T. and the M.G.s in the tournament finals. To celebrate, watch – or, for many of you, rewatch – Cocker’s classic Woodstock performance in full. If you haven’t seen it yet, the “Misheard Lyrics” captioned version poking fun at his often-slurred delivery is fun too.
