Haven’t gotten enough Radiohead this week, even after the full King of Limbs cover album? Well we have good news for you: Wolf Gang just released their version of Radiohead’s “Pyramid Song.” Wolf Gang is the project of singer and multi-instrumentalist Max McElligott. Hailing from London, he made waves in the blogosphere with last year’s bouncy “Lions in Cages” and is set to release his debut album this summer.

Now you may have thought “Pyramid Song” a pretty subdued affair already, but Wolf Gang strips it right down to the bare bones, leaving only the piano and vocals. The piano, though, offers more intricacy than on the original, with pretty little interludes rather than just those ominous clunking chords. And although the strings are gone, McElligott surrounds the vocals in reverb, adding even more loneliness to an already devastating song. Eventually the voices come together into an ethereal choir that propel the song skyward. While Wolf Gang’s changes really amount more to “tweaking” than anything else, those small changes have a big effect. Download the track below.
