At Cover Me, we like to give stuff away. Read on to learn how that stuff can be yours.

Back in October, we reviewed Subterranean Homesick Blues (A Tribute to Bob Dylan's 'Bringing It All Back Home') when it was only a digital release. Now, we're giving away five copies of the brand-new vinyl version, courtesy of Reimagine Music. Kids, believe us (and your parents) when we tell you it sounds even better on wax. Read on to find out how to win.

No secret by now vinyl records are making a comeback. The raw, gritty sound from a record player far surpasses that of your laptop speakers. It also encourages you to listen to an album in its entirety, the way it was meant to be. Subterranean Homesick Blues (A Tribute to Bob Dylan's Bringing It All Back Home) is the kind of record that should be listened to from beginning to end. Artists take on the electric first half, following it up with the acoustic second half paying homage to Mr. Dylan's original album ordering.

Jim Sampas, the album's producer and owner of Reimagine Music told Cover Me that the vinyl release added to the authenticity of the reworking of this legendary piece, “The warmth and full sound of analog is something I'm happily addicted to. We're all listening to mp3s and CDs sure, but sometimes you just need to hear the full, distorted, sound – blemishes and all, that's rock and roll.” Keep an eye out for our review of Reimagine's upcoming alt-country Rolling Stones tribute.

In the meantime, enter to win one of five copies of the LP! To enter, post your name, email address, and favorite Dylan song in the comments section below. Sorry, but due to shipping costs, this contest is restricted to U.S. residents. Winners will be selected randomly in one week. Contest closed.

  1. As a Dylan fan, my favorite song changes from time to time. However, after seeing Bob Dylan at the Grammy’s, I’ve gotten back into “Maggie’s Farm.” Also, you cannot go wrong with “Like a Rolling Stone.”

    Cheers!

  2. At the risk of sounding predictable, my favorite Dylan song is “Like A Rolling Stone”, but “Tangled Up In Blue” runs a close second. A great song, and equally fun to play in Rock Band 2.

  3. Tangled Up In Blue baby!

  4. Tangled Up in Blue or Blowin’ in the Wind, easy.

  5. Girl From the North Country, duet w/ Johnny Cash!

  6. “I Want You” and the LP :)

  7. A Hard Rain’s A-Gonna Fall or Don’t Think Twice, It’s All Right… ah crap, i can’t decide. i just love me some Dylan

  8. “it’s all right ma (I’m only bleeding)” or “it’s all over now baby blue”. I love apocalyptic oldies. Reminds me that it’s after the end of the world. (don’t you know that yet?)

  9. Buckets Of Rain – a favorite track from one my favorite albums.

Like the way that you move your hips.
I like the cool way you look at me.
Everything about you is bringing me misery.

  10. “Girl From North Country.” Gets better with every brilliant cover.

  11. “Seven Curses” or “Ring Them Bells.” Face it, naming a favorite Dylan song is near impossible

  12. This album’s closer wins it for me. “It’s All Over Now Baby Blue” is the best greyhound traveling song ever written. Nothing says Kiss This Town Goodbye like

the vagabond that’s rapping at your door
is standing in the clothes that you once wore

  13. Tangled Up In Blue is pretty nifty.

  14. I have got to say for me it a tie between “Desolation Row” the song that prooves you don’t need variation to make a great song, as long as what you are repeating in catchy and the lyrics are amazing you will get by. The other is “Don’t Think Twice, It’s Alright” which is Dylans greatest song that is just him his guitar and harmonica.

  15. For some unknown reason, with his massive catalog to choose from, I have always been partial to “Isis” (from ‘Desire’) with “The Man In The Long Black Coat” (from ‘Oh Mercy’) a close second. Love the Lanois production on the latter!

  16. Don’t Think Twice It’s Alright or You’re Gonna Make Me Lonesome When You Go.

  17. Shelter From the Storm

  18. It’s Alright, Ma (I’m Only Bleeding) !!!

  19. Every Grain of Sand

  20. I am a man of constant sorrows!

  21. Favorite Dylan song… tough choice but i will have to go a bit mainstream and say “Stuck Inside Mobile With the Memphis Blues Again” just because it always keeps continuing and tricking me oh what verse is actually the true ending.

  22. Desolation Row for sure. One of the greatest songs ever, by any artist.

  23. “I Was Young When I Left Home” is great and has fantastic covers – particularly by Antony and Bryce Dessener.

  24. without a doubt, “I shall be free”

  25. “Shelter from the Storm” but… a very very hard choice to make.

  26. Just Like Tom thumbs’ Blues always gets me.

  27. Depends on my mood, but “Leopard-Skin Pill-Box Hat” or “Tangled Up In Blue” (right now it’s Leopard-Skin Pill-Box Hat).

  28. Visions of Johanna

  29. Highway 61 Revisited

  30. “Hurricane” is one of his most epic works and it has such a powerful melody and emotional attachment to it, especially when performing live. That single was the last vinyl 45 that my father bought me before he passed away.

  31. Idiot Wind!

  32. Keith Krepcho
    kkrepcho@gmail.com
    “Knockin’ On Heaven’s Door”

  33. It’s All Over Now, Baby Blue

  34. Man in a Long Dark Coat is pretty exceptional.

  35. I Want You / from Blond on Blond

  36. I gotta go with lay lady lay, his voice on that is awesome

  37. “All Along The Watchtower”

  38. “Simple Twist of Fate” is one of his best ‘loved and lost’ songs. So beautiful.

  39. Favorite Dylan song changes day-to-day really, but right now I’m really digging on Things Have Changed. Been on a recent-ish Dylan kick lately.

  40. My favorite Dylan song is definitely “Desolation Row”.

  41. Very hard to think of just one favorite song, but I’m going with “It’s All Over Now, Baby Blue”.

  42. “It’s Alright, Ma (I’m only Bleeding)” and “Don’t think twice, it’s all right” are my favorites.
But if we’re talking about a jukebox than I always gotta put on some “Queen Jane Approximately” and “Desolation Row” back to back!

  43. Talkin’ World War Three Blues

  44. Leopard Skin Pill box Hat

  45. Lay Lady Lay

  46. Mr. Tambourine Man, perhaps my fav song of all time.

  47. Walking Down The Line

  48. I suppose it depends what day, but if I was to have my arm twisted right now I’d go with “Visions of Johanna”.

  49. Simple Twist of Fate

  50. Favorite Dylan song??? That’s impossible… But ok, if I have to choose, I’ll go with the live version of Visions of Johanna off of Biograph (recorded at London’s Royal Albert Hall concert on May 26, 1966 ). That one cuts rights through me!

  51. My favorite Dylan song would have to be “Just Like A Woman”. After hearing the man himself sing this live, it renewed my love for this song and all things Dylan. Such a legend to watch and listen to. Fingers crossed that a gorgeous vinyl copy of this album finds itself in my hands!

    Thank you for the opportunity!!

  52. Tangled Up In Blue

  53. Without a doubt Farewell Angelina is my favorite. First heard it when I was probably 15, and at that exact moment decided my firstborn daughter will be named for it.

  54. A toss-up: All Along the Watchtower or Blind Willie McTell.

  55. If Not For You

  56. Desolation Row
    THANKS!

  57. Leopard-Skin Pill-Box Hat

  58. I Want You

    Thanks!

  59. Sad-Eyed Lady of the Lowlands, no contest.

  60. Abandoned Love is my favorite. And the Everly Bros did a decent cover of it too.

  61. My favorite Bob Dylan song is “If not for you” it reminds me of multiple roadtrips with my father all across Mexico and the US. Dylan is a true artist he manages to portrait his true feelings in a song.

  62. Favorite song would be “The Times They Are a-Changin”. Typical, I know, but it’s so good. :-)

  63. Subterranean Homesick Blues. Dylan and funk. Loved The RHCP version off Uplift Mofo Part Plan.

  64. From the Live in 1964 Bootleg, the version of “Mama You’ve Been On My Mind” he sings with Joan.

  65. “Isis” for me.

  66. Farewell Angelina.

  67. “I Want You” Dylan doing pop music is such an interesting concept.

  68. favorite dylan song … “like a rolling stone”

  69. favorite dylan song… just like a woman
