Let’s put a new coat of paint on this lonesome old town
Set ’em up, we’ll be knockin’ em down
You wear a dress, baby, and I’ll wear a tie
We’ll laugh at that old bloodshot moon in that burgundy sky.
– Tom Waits
Dear Reader,
Welcome to the new site! This baby has been a long time coming. Poke around; make yourself at home. I think you’ll find it slicker, faster and easier to navigate.
All the old posts have been transferred over, but they’ve kept the same basic URL. Just delete the “.blogspot” from any old link and it’ll work. Update your bookmarks; tell your friends.
The new layout is only the beginning though. As we transition, we’re upgrading our approach. The old system of posting one chunk of songs a week has grown clunky and inefficient. So from now on you’ll see a more fluid format, with posts every day. We’re talking articles, news, downloads, videos, streams, features, blurbs, contests and a whole lot of exclusives. Follow the site via RSS/Twitter/Facebook/MySpace/email newsletter to stay up to speed.
As we get rolling, I want to hear from you. Voice your thoughts on the new look. Suggest a new feature or series. Tell us what you want to carry over from the old page (and what you’d just as soon leave behind). The more feedback you give, the better the site becomes.
Today begins a whole new chapter in the life of Cover Me. We kick things off next Tuesday with a very exciting exclusive. See you then.
– Ray
Congrats on the new coat!
Feedburner RSS feed still seems to point to the old feed, or at least the new feed doesn’t have the “A New Coat of Paint” post in it.
Thanks for the heads up Tony! It should be fixed now.
Hmm, the posts are all out of order in Google Reader, but I’m willing to call that a one-time bug. Looks like that did the trick! Thanks!
The new font is very difficult to read.
Yeah, I’ve heard that from a couple people. Let’s try this one on.
Oh, that’s a huge improvement! Thanks so much.
The site looks terrific! And I want to thank you again for sharing such awesome covers week in and week out. Thanks to you (and the other cover blogs) I have great music to play on my show each week!
Cheers,
Kimberley (Host of Aural Improbabilities on Kootenay Co-op Radio)
Congrats on the new digs! I like it!
Features: I’d like to see covers grouped by artists & all (or as many as you can find) covers of a specific song. Over all, fantastic site!
